What Matters: Aging Perspectives

Schaalman Senior Voices reaches out to older adults, listens to What Matters, and creates interactive platforms for personal discussion about how best to build and sustain healthier lives and communities throughout the aging process. Each of these films showcases the perspectives of three community residents.

Pilsen Senior Voices

A film featuring three Latino leaders from Chicago’s Pilsen community. Their perspectives on aging and life are featured in combination with the Rabbi’s own filmed insights.

Rush Senior Voices

A film featuring three Rush Generations members from the Chicago West Side. Their experiences with aging are highlighted alongside footage of Rabbi Schaalman and his wife, Lotte.

Center for Life and Learning Senior Voices

This film features three members of the Center for Life and Learning at Fourth Presbyterian Church, who discuss their respective perspectives on aging and share their advice to other older adults.

Schaalman Senior Voices at Emanuel Congregation

The recording captures the first virtual Schaalman Senior Voices Event: Meaning through Dialogue. The event features an introduction of the Schaalman Senior Voices program, a short-film featuring three leaders of different faiths, and a discussion on the aging experience from three unique perspectives. The event is moderated by Rabbi Michael Zedek.
