Schaalman Student Voices
Schaalman Senior Voices reaches out to older adults, listens to What Matters, and creates interactive platforms for personal discussion about how best to build and sustain healthier lives and communities throughout the aging process.
Schaalman Senior Voices offers an opportunity for healthcare students (future health care providers) to better understand what matters most to older adults while seeking care. Schaalman Senior Voices has been integrated into the Rush University Community Health Mentor program where over 700 students each year learn from a member in the community about Age-Friendly Health Systems and other key components of offering patient centered care. Schaalman Senior Voices films play an integral part in the curriculum of 17 unique health professions, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, healthcare administration, and others.
